The idea and energy behind Progress People comes from Richard Staniszewski. Richard is a serial entrepreneur who started his first business in 1991. He began this with just £10,000 and a home garage. He grew this to £10M turnover in just 7 years, employing 60 staff. He successfully started and developed other businesses. In all of these businesses Richard thrived on being given referrals and would always follow them up to offer his services.

After selling a recycling business in 2002 Richard moved to Colorado, USA. Living in Denver between 2003 and 2006, he used his free time to  ask himself questions like;

  • Why do people refer business to one another?
  • What can I do to encourage people to give me more referrals?
  • Do referrals just come from networking?
  • What changes must I do make my business be a focal point for referrals?
  • What kind of relationship do I need to encourage referrals?

Moving to Denver without any initial contacts was a great starting point. Richard sought out some of the best networking and referral people he could find and studied them and then put what he had learned into practice.

To bring this information together he has designed the Progress People Referral System. Individuals and companies can access this through seminars, e-Training or through working with an experienced business coach. Whichever route you choose the aim is the same. To develop your business through an intentional referral philosophy.
